Going for the Climbs

Written by Benfica Cycling Team at 14:09 11/6-2012

After almost a season dedicating ourselfs to sprints and time-trials we decided to go back and focus on climbing.

We enjoyed a lot this last 77 days as a sprinting team, during this period we achieved got 4 wins, which is the team's record in a reason, but we missed the thrill that mountain races used to give us.

Two weeks ago we started restructuring the team and now we are almost ready for the next season. Our first step will be maxing Justino Matoso, after him we will focus on training Tomé Carvalho as the team main downhiller, finally we will focus on training Eduardo Quental since he has potential to become better than one of our leaders Bernardino Lagos.

  See you on the road.

You have the best rider, I have the 2nd best, + the best support

Benfica Cycling Team at 21:25 27/9-2012
Lets hope it does, for now we have the top contenders, so we should at least get a top 3.

Team Deltaforce at 20:47 27/9-2012
Well, if Ancaquia CB goes well for both of us, we should both be promoted.

Benfica Cycling Team at 20:39 27/9-2012
Hopefully a month or two we will be opponets in medium/high division cobble races. New sponsor and jersey coming in the next 24hours.

Team Deltaforce at 20:02 27/9-2012
Damn you, team Sky, you just gave me a new opponent in the low division cobble race ;)

Benfica Cycling Team at 19:54 27/9-2012
Yes I am, honestly I do not know why it turned out like this. BTW I never really started training a cobble rider back then.
This change is probably related with the real life situation, for example, in the tour I was more interested in seing who would win the sprints than the mountain stages. You can blame Sky for this change.

Team Deltaforce at 18:45 27/9-2012
And now you are back at being a cobble/sprinting team again.
